Here is a brief explanation of the terms used on this site:
- strength
- A scored based on the number of seeders and peers, but greatly favouring seeders. High values indicate a torrent that is well shared, and should download quickly.
- impulse
- A score that is proportional to the strength but inversely proportional to the age of the torrent. High values indicate a torrent that has grown rapidly in its early stages. This could indicate something new and of high interest to the P2P community. It can also indicate fakes, and so the momentum (see below) should also be taken into account.
- momentum
- A score that is proportional to the product of the strength and growth rate of a torrent. A high value indicates a strong torrent that is likely to further improve its score. Fake torrents often show up with a high impulse but very low (often zero) or negative momentum.
